Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor
 

Position Overview
Responsible for safely performing mechanical repairs, replacing and/or adjusting heavy industrial equipment such as fans, pumps, gear drives, compressors, etc. Troubleshoot equipment for proper performance and repair, as necessary. Support and participate in the safety, environmental and quality goals of the plant.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Demonstrate general knowledge and use of hand tools. (Drill presses, band saws, welders, torch use, pipe threading machines and precision measuring instruments.)
• Rebuild, repair, and install all types of rotary equipment such as pumps, fans, valves, filters, gear drives, belt drives.
• Retain knowledge of SOPs for the assigned JQR’s on tasks associated for all Maintenance progressions.
• Must be able to wear a respirator as required for specific jobs.
• Work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must be able to read and repair or fabricate from blueprints.
• Support the call-out program and work overtime as required.
• Work swing shift (3p-11p).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associates Degree from Junior College (preferred)
• Minimum 6 months working experience as a Mechanical technician (preferred)
• Score 75 or higher on the maintenance skills test
• Professional communication skills
• Excellent human relationship skills
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics
• Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to work from heights and climb stairs and ladders
• Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
• Internal candidates must have completed the Maintenance Operator Training Curriculum
