About the Role

This position is responsible for operating all aspects of the Shipping/Slurry process within the Packaging area in a manner to produce safe, quality, and low-cost sustainable tonnes while upholding our core values as a Shipping/Slurry Day Operator. This position reports to the Day Supervisor, Logistics.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Prepare work permits, isolation sheets, and perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate and plan work activities with operating teams and maintenance, including job walkthroughs and scheduling to support safe and efficient execution.
  • Execute Shipping and Slurry operations in compliance with all applicable SOPs, including slurry and van truck loading, railcar washing, railcar sparging, trackwork, and raw material unloading.
  • Perform inventory control activities including weekly chemical inventories, bi-weekly and month-end physical inventories, and bag audits.
  • Complete required documentation and data entry using Microsoft Excel and applicable plant systems.
  • Demonstrate a general knowledge of all applicable safety & environmental plant policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of the process flow and the production requirements for the area.
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to educate aspiring team members.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards for assigned areas including but not limited to Shipping/Slurry Truck scales and other surrounding areas.
  • Support mandatory overtime.
  • Consistently demonstrate Tronox Core Values.

About You

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience
  • Must have a Gold or above on the ACT Work Keys Assessment
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Experience with slurry truck loading, railcar and track operations, including unloading/loading, sparging and product transfer preferred.
  • Must have experience with basic MS Office applications, data entry, and/or general computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and accessibility preferred
  • Experience using SharePoint to locate LOTOs, SOPs, and JSEAs.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • No active corrective action documentation
  • MX or above most recent evaluation required

Physical Requirements

  • Must have no facial hair that interferes with the sealing surface of a respirator, including hair below the top lip (such as beards, goatees, or excessive sideburns).
  • Constantly ascend or descend ladders, stairs, platforms, and railcars and move self into various positions to perform Shipping and Slurry job tasks.
  • Frequently remain stationary for prolonged periods, including standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Regularly perform repetitive motions involving hands, arms, and wrists.
  • Constantly work in varied environments that may include extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rainy), elevated noisy areas, poor ventilation, and confined or tight spaces including railcars.
  • Constantly lift, move, and adjust objects weighing at least 55 pounds or more.
