Position Overview

Develops strategies & tactics to enable effective negotiations for low-median value services and/or materials. The procurement strategies are created to drive cost and sustainability improvement, and improve the company’s security of supply. Evaluates bids/quotations to determine optimum value and to gain alignment from key stakeholders. Identifies potential new suppliers, develops, reviews, and issues requests for quotations and request for tenders for low value services and materials..


Primary Responsibilities

  • The timely placement of orders for stock replenishment, direct charge goods and services, and process materials in accordance with agreed Tronox specifications.
  • Execute, expedite and maintain purchase orders. Coordinates the development, issuance, and evaluation of Request for Proposals and Request for Quotation packages.
  • Manages of low-medium value supplier relationships with supplier account managers.
  • Update master data for pricing imported goods, lead times, investigate and resolve quantity and price invoice to PO mismatches
  • Identify potential new suppliers, develop, review, and issue requests for quotations.
  • Supplier selection based on bid analysis and supplier evaluation criteria within scope of authority
  • Drive continuous improvement for assigned commodity, service. Drive sustainable procurement improvement.


Qualifications & Experience

  • 5 years experience with Degree or 10 years experience with Diploma (Mandatory)
  • Valid Code 8(B) driver’s license (Mandatory)

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of and ability to manage the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the procurement functions or department.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use tools, processes and practices for purchasing goods and services via electronic links to suppliers and partners.
  • Ability to effectively manage the business relationship and transactions with the suppliers of raw materials or product components and services.
  • Knowledge of and ability to develop and use tools, techniques, and practices for relevant procurement applications.
  • Knowledge and effective application of tools and techniques that support recognition and anticipation of organisational or process problems, enable effective analysis and determination of root causes and development of solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business.
  • Understanding of the issues and processes related to the decision-making process; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately and synthesise information and reach informed and productive decisions.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques. Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Knowledge of industry, markets, and products and ability to utilise this to support effective execution of the organization’s business goals and commercial strategies
  • Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations..
