Senior T&I Project Manager

Mine Site (Brand se Baai)
Position Overview
This role is located at Tronox's Namakwa Sands Northern Operations (mining, concentration, and separation facilities) on the west coast of South Africa. The ideal candidate will apply their talent, enthusiasm, and expertise in managing projects that will maximize the value in the production of Safe, Quality, Low-cost, Sustainable Tons.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure Health and Safety requirements and standards are incorporated into project life cycles and associated onsite project activities to ensure zero harm to people and the environment.
- Takes ownership of all projects related activities across project life cycles including design, planning, construction, supervision and commissioning to ensure successful project delivery as per approved scope, time and budget.
- Development of suitable scopes of work to enable effective contractor management.
- Coordinates and manages internal/contract labor undertaking project activities.
- Ensure relevant engineering/regulatory standards are adhered to and that associated changes are reviewed and approved by the relevant stakeholders.
- Compile, submit and present project progress feedback/reports to stakeholders
- Assist with the 5-year capital planning, capital budgeting process and prioritization of the project’s portfolio.
- Track and report project costing and schedules in EPPM system.
Qualifications & Experience
- B. Eng / BSc. Eng / Btech Engineering or equivalent NQF Level 7 (Mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years’ role specific experience within a heavy industry / mining / mineral or chemical processing / production environment (Mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years Management / Supervisory experience (Mandatory)
- Project Management Qualification (Advantageous)
Knowledge & Skills
- Practical knowledge of project management methodologies, such as Agile and PMBOK.
- Good experience as a project manager, managing multi-disciplinary projects (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) in a heavy industrial or mining environment.
- Excellent experience in projects in life cycle-management including design, planning, construction, supervision and commissioning.
- Excellent planning, organizational, performance management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder and risk management skills.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills, leading diverse project teams to achieve project success.
- Excellent track record in setting and achieving project objectives and targets.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
- Excellent financial, report writing, stakeholder and change management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of the Construction Regulations (OHS Act and Regulations).
- Good knowledge of Project Portfolio Database systems.
- Good knowledge of Safety Management systems.
