Position Title
Process Engineering Lead
Reports to
Manager, Concentration.
Location
SA- Namakwa Sands
Position Summary
Ensuring maximum plant efficiency by supporting production personnel to run optimum throughput, stable grade control and maximum zircon, rutile, and ilmenite recovery.
Qualification & Experience
- BEng, Met Eng. or BTech in either Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering Discipline
- At least 3-4 years in a Heavy Industrial Metallurgical or Chemical Process environment
- Valid Drivers License
Knowledge & Skills
- Process design (especially fluid flow calculations and designs)
- Full understanding of recovery, yield, and grade
- Excellent excel capabilities, trend analysis and query creation capabilities.
- People skills (you may be required to run a small team)
- Data and statistical analysis
- Gravity, Magnetic and electrostatic separation techniques, screening, pumping, milling, and thickening.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Basic mass and mineral balancing principles
- Ensures plant operates within the prescribed process parameters.
- Conducts routine process and process unit audits and reports on process performance (quality, recovery, and throughput).
- Ensures quality performance meets product and customer specifications.
- Develop grade control procedures to assist production personnel with stable quality control.
- Initiate and conduct Non-conformance reports on product quality concerns.
- Manages product quality recovery management system (PQRMS, risk trees and check sheets)
- Continuous process and process control optimization
- Initiation and delivery of process and plant improvements (modifications and capital projects) including process design and financial evaluations.
- Provides technical support for company driven initiatives.
- Facilitate production and assist maintenance teams with trouble shooting (Root Cause Failure Analysis)
- Provides mentoring for production operators for effective process operation and operator development.
- Provide a professional and specialist advisory support service with regard to production and product quality across different levels within the organization.
- Technical input to new standard operating procedures, training material and SHEQ annual reporting
- Ensure technical documentation is up to date.
