Requirements

Qualifications:

• BTech/BSC/BEng in Electrical Engineering
• Driver’s License (Mandatory)
• High level of Computer skills (Mandatory)
• ECSA professional registration (Advantageous)
• GCC mines and works and/or factories (Advantageous)

Years of related prior experience

At least 4 years’ experience as a professional in training or as a practitioner post-BTech/BSC/BEng (Mandatory)


Recommended:

• Good Knowledge of mineral processing, smelting plant equipment.
• Knowledgeable on online condition monitoring techniques (Proactive Defect elimination).
• Good knowledge of Technical Maintenance Techniques, principles, and strategies.
• Good understanding of Reliability-Centred Maintenance processes (RCM) and principles.
• Good understanding of the root cause failure analysis techniques (Reactive Defect Elimination).
• Highly abreast with problem-solving skills.
• Fair knowledge of Project Management.

 

Job Specification (Outputs)

 

• Approve and assist with specifying the installation steps of Electrical equipment to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Specialize in analyzing and/or systematic problem solving on large or repetitive problems and come up with recommendations.
• Monitor and benchmark failure trends on key assets.
• Identify and mitigate asset-related risks.
• Quantify the value of improvements and compile a business case for it.
• Review condition monitoring results and trends.
• Use Equipment Life cycle costing (LCC) to select the most cost-effective assets.
• Recommend repair / Replacement decisions using LCC analysis.
• Analyze and recommend optimal spare stockholding.
• Track and investigate warranty claims.

• Track and monitor equipment performance.
• Standby support to artisans afterhours
• VSD fault finding and programming (Parameters), as well as ABB ACS 600, ABB ACS 800, ABB ACS 880, Danfos and WEG knowledge.

• Conduct equipment failure analysis (Root Cause Failure Analysis).
• Develop and maintain equipment maintenance strategies by applying Reliability-Centered Maintenance principles/methodology.
• Conduct high-level mechanical problem-solving.
• Specify the RAMS of a new asset to be acquired.
• Facilitate the process to optimize maintenance tactics.
• Support the Electrical maintenance processes.
• Support with inputs relating to day-to-day maintenance activities and maintenance KPIs.

 

SHEQ and Compliance

• Develop, maintain, and improve safe operational- and engineering standards and continuously review specifications and schedules.
• Ensure equipment integrity is maintained according to safety standards.
• Maintain SHEQ standards (ISO 14000; 9000 and 4500 systems).
• Conduct timeous investigation of incidents and ensure adequate remedial action is implemented.

• Execute and drive safety programs.
• Ensure effective risk management by identifying hazardous activities and mitigation measures on a continuous basis.

 

 Customer Relationships

• Manage internal and external relations, including the interface with external providers or other functions responsible for ensuring that the business needs are met.
• Represent Tronox at applicable forums.
• Provide relevant and specialized support to applicable stakeholders.

Process Efficiency

• Assume responsibility for meeting production targets.
• Ensure the optimal use of available resources, both people and equipment.
• Assume responsibility for the quality of work conducted within the functional area.
• Conduct troubleshooting to identify a root cause for substandard equipment and maintenance processes.
• Complete, process, and update all records and related documentation.

• Ensure business systems are maintained and optimized by conducting continuous research.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives, projects, and processes toward ensuring focused business growth and alignment with international standards / practices.
