About the Role
This position assists in a wide range of specialized testing, experimental work and technical support activities in a research and development function. Performs a range of support activities to enable the smooth operation of the R&D environment.
- Assist senior technicians and scientists with ongoing projects, plant trials, and technical support activities
- Perform basic sample preparation, handling, and testing according to defined procedures and schedules
- Accurately record data, observations, and test results in appropriate systems
- Assist senior staff in summarizing results and preparing reports
- Support instrument set up, calibration checks and inform senior leaders of any maintenance that may need to be performed
- Follow all laboratory safety, quality, and environmental procedures including proper PPE use
- Develop an understanding of systems, data integrity, and continuous improvement concepts
About You
- High school diploma with completion of:
- General chemistry lecture course
- General chemistry laboratory course
- Algebra II
- OR Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physical, or natural sciences
- Working knowledge of a laboratory environment and ability to perform tasks in accordance with established safety procedures and guidelines
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and planning skills
- Experience with basic spreadsheet and word processing software applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and the flexibility to take on a variety of duties
