Description

Position Overview

The Maintenance Scheduler coordinates maintenance scheduling to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Area and Site in support of SQLCST. The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for ensuring the operation of the plant is conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner in compliance with the Safety and Environmental Policies. Work with an outward mindset while demonstrating Tronox core values.

Roles and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Prioritize and schedule planned work for maintenance, E&I etc.
  • Review maintenance manpower forecast and plan schedule accordingly. Work with maintenance department to secure manpower (contractor or Tronox) for tasks, and with other schedulers in sharing manpower from the different crews.
  • Collaborate with teams and other support members to plan maintenance activities and clearly communicate plans with personnel involved.
  • Work with maintenance planners to coordinate activities within the maintenance budget, review current PMs and revise as needed.
  • Schedule activities for Hydrovac.
  • Work in S4/Prometheus to create the schedule, order equipment for the area, write POs, and any other needed activities.
  • Schedule/Coordinate workload to meet goals for PM attainment, schedule attainment, planned work, budget, and backlog management.
  • Assist in shutdown preparation for the area based on the plant’s operational needs.
  • Coach operations on writing notifications and upkeep of the equipment.
  • Log and manage time scheduled on certain pieces of equipment for replacement to track the history of assets.
  • Work with engineers and contractor coordinators to implement Expense Projects.
  • Review and grade notifications for clarity, correct priorities, remove duplications and release quality notifications.
  • Work with engineers to implement DCAs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in relation to efficient operation and scheduling of maintenance activities.
  • Fill in for other Area Support members as needed and help with operational issues in the area.
  • Communicate and work well with operations, maintenance, management, engineers, other schedulers, and contractors.
  • Support and drive the implementation of area cost savings initiatives.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have no facial hair that interferes with the sealing surface of a respirator which would include hair below the top lip (such as beards, goatees, or excessive sideburns).
  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc. and moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments.
  • Frequently remain stationary for prolonged periods, standing and sitting.
  • Regularly perform repetitive motions involving hands and wrists, and operating machinery, tools, vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Constantly working in varied environments that may include extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, and rainy weather), elevated noisy areas, poor ventilation, confined and tight spaces.
  • Constantly lift, move and adjust objects weighing at least 55 pounds or more.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ maintenance or operations experience in Finishing or experience as a Maintenance Scheduler or Planner
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel required
  • Ability to present ideas, good verbal and written communication skills, and good human relations skills are required.
  • Must have an MX or above on most recent evaluation and no active corrective action documentation is required.
