Position Overview

This position will report to the Finance Controller for the KSA region, handling Costing, Budgeting & Forecasting at Yanbu Plant. The Senior Management Accountant will be accountable to provide accurate accounting, cost analysis, variance analysis and financial support for the operational team assigned. He/she will produce and drive action on monthly reporting and analysis covering manufacturing cost statements, operating variances, metrics, KPI’s, including making corrective action recommendations to ensure targeted performance is achieved. The Senior Management Accountant will provide analytical support for Capital investment decisions.

 

Primary Responsibilities

This role is accountable for:
 

Accurate accounting for costs through transaction recording

  • Accurate and timely recording of accruals, reallocations journal entries and reconciliations
  • Recording & reconciliation of process chemicals, other variable costs
  • Accurate accounting for fixed costs including maintenance, supplies, rentals, etc.
  • Analyzes and reviews of expenditures, confirm proper allocation of expenses to the various departments, and reports to the various departments as necessary
  • Accurate and timely month end close and reporting
  • Maintain Effective Key Controls.

 

Inventory

  • Cycle count accuracy and review cycle count results and accuracy according to policy.
  • Recording of MRO obsolete stock provisions
  • Recording & reconciliation of process chemicals, calculation.

 

Unit Operations Financial Expert - Primary support on cost analysis, variance analysis, and financial support for Unit Operations

  • Primary finance business partner to operations , procurement and T&I teams.
  • Preparation of cost analysis reports for the site
  • Monthly PVE analysis for site
  • Cost analysis by cost center, operational unit
  • Responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and business plans
  • Support the Global FP&A team
  • Preparation of Monthly Business Review Packages
  • Continuous improvement - Seek regular feedback from business partners for improvements.

 

Measure and analyze business drivers and KPI's against targets

  • Develop and review forecast, agree on action plans
  • Track actions to close gaps
  • Update estimates/forecasts with action results for exceptions.

 

Partner with the Business Analyst to ensure project costs and benefits are aligned

  • Ensure understanding, justification, and alignment on project prioritization
  • Ensure project costs and benefits are reflected in forecasts and budgets
  • Supply data, review project analysis for cost and capital projects.

 

Process Improvement

  • Seeks ways to improve upon accounting processes and procedures to promote efficiency and cost savings
  • Implement continuous improvement requests from business partners either local or central.

 

Inventory Valuation under US GAAP & IFRS including LCM’s (Lower of Cost or Market) (Net Realizable Value)

  • Define product cost master data and overhead (Bill of Materials and Standards)
  • Create product cost estimates (actuals, budget, and forecast)
    • Estimate activity rates
    • Analyze costing results
    • Activity allocations
    • Allocate overhead/process costs
    • Lower of Cost or Market (LCM) Calculations
  • Inventory Valuations and Reconciliation
    • Stock Valuations
    • Stock Reconciliations & adjustments
  • Analyze and report product costs and profitability
    • Explanations for variances
  • Maintain Effective Key Controls

 

Manage Management Accounting Team

  • Ensure goals and objectives are aligned with corporate, regional, site finance and the site, regional operational and functional teams
  • Identify key stakeholders of the management accounting team and solicit feedback from both finance, functional and operational business partners for goal setting and performance review process.

 

Enhanced Reporting Responsibilities for Operations

  • Reporting for multiple sites, operations, or regions

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor or Masters  Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Senior Finance role within an operational (manufacturing or similar industry) organization
  • Certified Public Accountant or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in and extensive knowledge of principles of IFRS or US GAAP:
    • Management Accounting
    • Financial Accounting
    • Financial Modelling
    • Financial and internal auditing processes
  • Understanding of GAAP Accounting Principles (IFRS or US GAAP)
  • Able to effectively lead and develop a site-based finance team
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills to enable effective Operational and Corporate business partner relationships
  • Working knowledge of SAP, OneStream, Excel (desirable)
  • Understanding of SOX compliance (financial requirements and controls) (desirable)
  • Ability to identify and implement process efficiencies through systematic solutions (desirable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products with advanced skills in Excel required
  • Demonstrates the highest ethical standards and values
  • Possesses an appreciation and sensitivity for a diverse and multi-cultural environment
