About the Role
The general function of this position is to operate the chemical process within the assigned area in a safe and efficient manner to produce a high-quality product. 12-hour rotating shifts to include nights and weekend. Responsible for ensuring the operation of the plant is accomplished in an environmentally responsible manner, and in compliance with all Safety, Health, and Environmental Policy. Full-time starting hourly pay rate is $30.76. Tronox offers a competitive benefits program, designed to support you and your family. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Offload hazardous chemicals
- Read and comprehend standard operating procedures and piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Understand the process flow and production requirements for the area assigned
- Complete the necessary training and maintain refresher hours as required
- Stand for prolonged periods of time
- Lift 55 pounds or more
- Perform general housekeeping to include sweeping and shoveling
- Work in extreme weather conditions to include hot, cold, and rainy weather
- Climb ladder to work at heights
- Walk extended distance to perform track work
- Forklift operations
- Front end load operations
- Attend and participate in HAZMAT certification, Fire/Rope rescue team training, and 1st Aid
- Work overtime coverage as required based on plant and shift needs
- Write notifications and complete work orders in SAP
- Data entry and tracking using Microsoft Exceel and Khronos database
- Minor maintenance and troubleshooting rotating equipment
- Consistently apply Outward Mindset Principles & Tools
- MX or above on most recent performance evaluation and no active corrective action
- Must have no facial hair that interferes with the sealing surface of a respirator which would include hair below the top lip (such as beards, goatees, or excessive sideburns).
- Constantly ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc. and moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments
- Occasionally required to operate heavy machinery, power tools, or motor vehicles
- Constantly walking long distances from one worksite to another and working in outdoor weather conditions
- Occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 50 or more pounds in all directions
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Gold or above on the ACT Work Keys Assessment preferred
- 3 years industrial manufacturing experience preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Manufacturing Basic Skills Certification preferred
- Forklift operating experience preferred
- Front end loading experience preferred
