Quality Laboratory Lead

Position Overview

The function of this position is to conduct chemical, physical and optical tests on raw and finished titanium dioxide pigment and on sodium chlorate and its process streams, and to similarly test paints and plastics made from finished pigment. Also ensures the operation of the plant in an environmentally responsible manner in compliance with the Environmental Policy.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Perform chemical, physical and optical tests on raw and finished titanium dioxide pigment and sodium chlorate and its process streams and to similarly test paints and plastics made from finished pigments.
  • Perform required work without injury to self, others, the environment, and physical surroundings.
  • Judge the acceptability of test results to determine the need for repeat analyses or additional sampling.
  • Record and report results of assigned tests.
  • Compositing finished pigment samples.
  • Prepare solutions used in the testing of raw and finished pigment.
  • Conduct safety meetings.
  • Perform required work and paperwork in support of ISO activity.

Qualifications

Position requires a science degree, Chemistry preferred and deductive reasoning and analytical skills.  Related laboratory experience is preferred.
