Summary
This position is a member of the Integrated Business Planning team (IBP) and will collaborate on project planning, model development and validation, deployment and long term support of the solutions. In this role, you will develop and implement simulation and optimization models designed to answer questions on making our manufacturing and supply chains more effective.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Apply various modeling techniques to generate solutions to complex business problems such as inventory management, resource planning, production planning, scheduling, facility location, portfolio optimization, supply chain management, pricing and revenue optimization.
Collaborate with and support the regional planners on tactical planning activities and to gain direct insight on facility and process questions regarding material flow, personnel flow, utilization, space constraints and bottlenecks.
Collaborate with data engineers and/or data analysts to procure and test data for input to planning systems, or mining for business insights.
Compile simulation data, assumptions, calculations and results to provide insight to leadership using model results and reports.
Perform scenario planning on monthly basis and ad-hoc analysis on optimization models to support tactical decisions on production and demand allocation, raw material planning and logistics decisions.
Develop innovative, repeatable, business use cases, and quickly develop prototypes to test these use cases.
Develop a library of standard modeling elements for ease of use in future models.
Qualifications (Minimum Education & Experience)
The following education, experience, knowledge and skills are required:
The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related discipline from an accredited college or University.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years relevant experience in optimization modeling and solvers.
Experience developing standardized models and frameworks in model development.
Demonstrated ability to use at least one modern programming language, simulation, optimization, or business intelligence platform (e.g., RStudio, MATLAB, Python, Java, Gurobi, CPLEX.
Experience with SQL and relational databases, scripting (one or more common languages e.g., Python and R).
Understanding and experience in linear regressions and probability theories, dynamic programming, linear and non-linear integer programming optimization, discrete simulation and dynamic programming.
Good communication skills and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
This position requires a high degree of organization, focus and ability to successfully manage work responsibilities in a global virtual environment.
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in the application of supply chain management concepts such as forecasting, planning and logistics preferred.
Primary Location:
The home site for this position is Stamford CT office. The job may be performed in the office or virtually within U.S. Eastern or Central time zones.
