Position Overview

This position reports to the Corporate Financial Controller and dotted lined into the Site Director – Hamilton.  This role will be accountable for producing accurate, timely financial statements and operating as the finance business partner to the Site Directors and the Site round table supporting strategy, improvement and maximizing the performance of SQLCST.  Provide the FP&A Team and the Site Director with reporting, variance analysis, planning, forecast, and ad hoc financial analysis for the site. Working closely with key stakeholders from the Hamilton Site Operations team Corporate Finance team (FP&A, Internal Audit, Tax).

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

This role is accountable for:

 

Controllership Responsibilities

  • Support Controller’s Group in producing accurate, and timely financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, financial reporting disclosure schedules and MSA
  • Lead and develop Finance team members 
  • Lead transactional accounting responsibilities at the site (e.g., Accounts Payable for N.A., PP&E)
  • Ensure Team is adhering to all Policies and Procedures and that internal controls are functioning as intended
  • Support Internal and external audit requirements as required
  • Lead all management accounting, finance responsibilities for the site (cost accounting, standard cost, intercompany pricing, Inventory values, etc.)

 

Site Operations Director Business Partner

  • Support site SHEQ activities, regular Visible Felt Leadership walks, CLEAN projects, Toolbox meetings, etc.
  • Finance business partner to Site Operations Director and the Site round table, supporting strategy and driving continuous improvement activities to maximize the performance of the business in SQLCST
  • Produce and drive action on monthly reporting and analysis covering manufacturing cost statements, operating variances, metrics, KPI’s, including making corrective action recommendations to ensure targeted performance is achieved
  • Provide analytical support for Capital investment decisions
  • Making recommendations to improve Working capital and return on assets

 

FP&A 

  • Support the Corporate FP&A Team and the Hamilton Leadership Team with planning, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis
  • Communicate monthly forecast and results to site senior leadership, site management and corporate FP&A.
  • Lead the site’s SG&A reporting and planning activities with an eye to continue to reduce operating costs.
  • Support the Site IBP and Supply Chain process

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience (postgraduate)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Senior Finance role within an operational (manufacturing or similar industry) organization
  • Bachelor of Business (Accounting) or equivalent
  • Certified Public Accountant or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in and extensive knowledge of principles of US:
    • Management Accounting
    • Financial Accounting
    • Financial Modelling
    • Financial and internal auditing processes
  • Understanding of US GAAP Accounting Principles
  • Able to effectively lead and develop a site-based finance team
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills to enable effective Operational and Corporate business partner relationships
  • Working knowledge of SAP, OneStream, Excel (desirable)
  • Understanding of SOX compliance (financial requirements and controls) (desirable)
  • Ability to identify and implement process efficiencies through systematic solutions (desirable)
  • Proof of US citizenship, or Permanent Residency
  • Valid National Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months)
  • Obtain and maintain site entry requirements in accordance with your terms and conditions of employment and / or the relevant site contract. (May be essential or desirable)
