Position Overview
As a manager you will be responsible for managing the application portfolio of systems that support the Tronox’s Manufacturing Systems as part of the Operational Technology (OT) stack. This includes but is not limited to the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Historian, Maintenance Scheduling, and Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) systems. In addition, you will be responsible for managing and supporting legacy applications which are important to Tronox operations. This is a contract position for twelve (12) months with the possibility of an extension. The position is regional and involves traveling to Tronox sites.
Primary Responsibilities
This role is accountable for:
- Being the central point of contact between Operations and IT for Manufacturing and Legacy Applications in the region (support and projects).
- Building strong relationships with the stakeholders to enable effective dialogue exchange between departments.
- Managing the Manufacturing and Legacy Applications team.
- Working with Operations to agree on the Service Level Agreement (SLAs) and the support model.
- Manage contracts for software licenses and maintenance support for regional applications.
- Working to ensure the quality of service in accordance with the agreed SLAs.
- Deliver agreed enhancements following the IT Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Change Management process.
- Review and provide a roadmap for legacy applications modernization and rationalization.
- Design and present new solutions to the Architecture Review Board (ARB) for approval.
- Anticipating and mitigating risks, identifying improvement opportunities.
- Providing progress and status reports at regular intervals to the stakeholders.
- Managing issues and requests utilizing the IT Service Management (ITSM) ticketing systems and ensure that the tickets are progressing and resolved in accordance with the SLAs.
- Organizing and leading the meetings related with applications.
- Determine the staffing requirements and skills needed to support the regional applications.
- Work with the Tronox Operations Information Technology (TOIS) Center of Excellence (CoE) to prioritize enhancement requests.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ Years of IT Applications or Operation Technology (OT) Applications management experience.
- 10+ Years of IT Applications Development experience in various languages.
- Experience in digital transformation projects.
- Technically proficient with Process Control Systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and historian systems (e.g. full Siemens Suite, Emerson DeltaV, Syncade, OSI PI) ThingWorx, Khronos Insight, Aveva Production Management (formally known as Ampla), Bulk Matrix, Honeywell Connected Plant, RT Duet).
- Understanding of the ISA95 Purdue model.
- Ability to translate Business Requirements (BR) to Functional Requirements (FR).
- Strong organization and coordination skills.
- Demonstrated experience in developing project strategies and managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
- Excellent communication skills, strong relationship builder.
- Must be a results-oriented motivator with a “can-do” attitude, strong customer support abilities.
- Must be a problem solver with varying degrees of complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or equivalent.
- You are proficient in English, excellent verbal, and written skills.
Additionally:
- Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) S4 or ECC6.
- Experience with Cloud based architectures, Microsoft Azure preferred.
- Experience with advanced data models including Data Lakehouse, Data Factory, and Databricks
- Understanding of Enterprise Architecture and systems design.\

- Has worked for a multinational company and is able to work effectively with different cultures.

- You have experience in the Mining and Chemical industry.
