Position Title
Senior Community and Stakeholder Relations

Position Overview
Tronox Namakwa Sands is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Community Stakeholder Relations to lead stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and community development initiatives within the West Coast region.
This role is central to maintaining Tronox’s social license to operate by ensuring effective Social and Labour Plan (SLP) implementation, Local Economic Development (LED) delivery, and trusted relationships with local communities, government, and regulators.
Primary Responsibilities
SLP & Regulatory Compliance
- Coordinate and support implementation of approved Social and Labour Plans (SLPs)
- Facilitate DMRE engagements and approvals, ensuring ongoing compliance
- Monitor, track and report on SLP commitments and regulatory obligations
Local Economic Development (LED) Projects
- Manage and track the execution of approved LED projects
- Ensure effective delivery, reporting, and stakeholder alignment across projects
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
- Develop and implement the annual stakeholder management strategy
- Map, build, and sustain strong relationships with:
- Local municipalities (e.g. Matzikama)
- Community leadership structures
- Provincial and national government stakeholders
- Represent Tronox in community forums, public meetings, and stakeholder engagements
Corporate Social Investment (CSI)
- Manage CSI and charitable donation requests
- Support the Charitable Donations Committee review process and ensure alignment with company priorities
Stakeholder Intelligence & Risk Management
- Monitor and report on emerging stakeholder issues and community risks
- Provide insights to inform proactive engagement and risk mitigation strategies
- Track regulatory developments and external risks impacting operations
Desirable (Namakwa-Specific)
- Proficiency in Afrikaans (spoken and written) will be a strong advantage, given the local stakeholder environment
- Experience working within the West Coast / rural community context
- Exposure to DMRE audits, inspections, and Mining Charter reporting processes
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant degree in Social Science, Development Studies, or related field (Mandatory)
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in stakeholder relations, community engagement, or corporate affairs
- Valid Driver’s license
- Demonstrated experience in: SLP implementation and compliance, DMRE regulatory processes and LED and community development programmes
- Proven ability to engage effectively with municipalities, regulators, and community stakeholders
